The Nordic Spa at the Liberty Inn Caledon Review
The Nordic Spa Experience
The private Nordic spa was one of the most memorable parts of our winter staycation. Nordic spa circuits alternate between heat, cold, and warm soaking, a practice known to improve circulation, promote relaxation, and aid recovery after outdoor activity.
How the Spa Works
- Reserve privately: $45 for 50 minutes, exclusively for overnight guests.
- Spa circuit: sauna → cold plunge → cedar hot tub.
- Preparation: towels, slippers, and water are provided in a heated changing hut.
The spa area is beautifully lit with string lights, candles, and a crackling fire pit. Muskoka chairs offer cozy seating, and the circular sauna adds warmth and ambiance. Even better, dogs are welcome in the spa vicinity, making it a rare dog-friendly winter getaway experience.

Year-Round Enjoyment
The circular sauna, cold plunge, and cedar hot tub are especially memorable in winter, but in warmer months, the spa offers a peaceful oasis after hiking, biking, or exploring nearby towns.
After the session, we returned to our suite to find a thoughtful gift bag with hydration and electrolyte drinks, one of many little details that make the Liberty Inn feel genuinely special.
Winter (and Year-Round) Adventures Nearby
Forks of the Credit & Mono Cliffs Provincial Parks
The Liberty Inn is ideally located for exploring the natural beauty of Caledon. Across the street is Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, with trails along the Bruce Trail perfect for winter hikes, snowshoeing, or crisp walks. Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is about 40 minutes away, offering dramatic escarpment views and varied terrain.
Skiing & Small Town Exploration
Winter sports lovers will appreciate being close to Caledon Ski Club, one of the region’s most popular ski hills. With runs for different ability levels, it’s an excellent option for adding a day of downhill fun to your winter staycation.
Beyond outdoor activities, Caledon’s charming small towns offer year-round exploration. Local farms, breweries, and wineries are perfect for a scenic drive, warm drink, or relaxed meal after a day outside.

Hospitality in Action at my Ontario Winter Staycation
During our winter visit, we experienced one of the season’s biggest snowstorms. By morning, the snow was deep, and the Liberty Inn team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They cleared snow from around our tiny Honda Fit, shoveled our walkway, and even offered to extend our stay until the snowplow had passed so we could safely leave.
That same thoughtfulness showed up in every small moment: when we realized we might run out of milk for our morning coffee, a quick text brought more milk; later, when we wanted candles, they delivered matches without hesitation. Even during our spa visit, when there were no guests after us, they let our session run a little longer; all arranged simply and comfortably by text. If there is one thing I’d like to highlight in this Liberty Inn Caledon review, it’s the hospitality offered.
Private Breakfast and Dining and the Liberty Inn
Liberty Inn Caledon Review: Breakfast in the Morning
While there’s no on-site restaurant, each suite at the Liberty Inn comes with a full kitchen, making dining feel personal, relaxed, and perfectly suited for a winter getaway in Ontario, or any year-round Ontario staycation.
Mornings begin with one of the most thoughtful touches of the stay: fresh croissants ready to bake. Waiting in the fridge are unbaked croissants with simple instructions, along with eggs, butter, jam, milk, and a well-stocked coffee and latte setup.
Waking up to the smell of warm croissants baking in your suite is especially magical on a snowy winter morning, but equally enjoyable in the sun-drenched mornings of spring or summer, and best of all, there’s no need to leave your private Ontario suite.

Cozy Dinners, Your Way
For dinner, guests can keep things just as cozy. You can:
- Bring your own meals, taking full advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and cookware.
- Pre-order from the Liberty Inn’s house-made frozen meals, with options like meat pies, pastas, and soups prepared in advance and ready in your suite’s freezer, complete with easy cooking instructions.
It’s an ideal setup for a quiet night in Ontario, whether you’re traveling as a couple, solo, or with your dog curled up nearby.
The Joy of Self-Guided Dining
This self-guided dining experience is one of the things that makes the Liberty Inn feel so special. There are no reservations to rush to, no crowded dining rooms, and no pressure to go anywhere unless you want to. It’s a private, intimate stay designed for slowing down, exactly what you hope for during a cozy Ontario getaway.
