Central America
Bordered by the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, Central America is the tropical, volcano lined paradise that connects North and South America. Running from Mexico to Colombia, Central America is made up of 7 countries; Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.
Unfortunately, this area of the world has been burdened by a reputation of political and civil unrest from years past. While previous media has been harsh on Central America, the reputation is finally shifting for the better. Central America is becoming a hotspot for a range of travellers, from surfers, to luxury travellers, to partying backpackers and retirees. The world is finally starting to see that the countries of Central America are not only safe and affordable, but they are also beautiful and environmentally diverse with unique, colourful cultures and histories.
For each of the countries listed below, you will find detailed destination guides, inspiring bucket list adventures, unique places to stay, unreal things to see and do, and my personal commentary on the travelling community and experience of backpacking through Central America.
